2023 MHL Entry Draft to be broadcast on Eastlink Community TV

Truro, N.S. (May 23, 2023) – The Maritime Junior Hockey League (MHL) is pleased to announce that Eastlink Community TV will carry the 2023 MHL Entry Draft. The first two rounds of the event will be broadcast live on Thursday, June 15th starting at 7 p.m. on channels 10 and 610 in Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, and Newfoundland.

Join host Mavs Gillis and draft analysts Dan Hobson, Greg MacDonald, and Mike Smith as they break down the selections from the MHL’s twelve teams. Coverage on Eastlink will include interviews with players, coaches, and general managers.

The 2023 MHL Entry Draft will once again be held online, powered by HockeyTech and Rinknet, with fans able to see each selection as they’re made at themhl.ca or through the league’s social media accounts in addition to the live coverage on Eastlink Community TV.

The newly relocated West Kent Steamers franchise has the 1st overall selection, followed by the Amherst Ramblers, Fredericton Red Wings, and Grand Falls Rapids. The full draft order will be posted on themhl.ca closer to draft day.

The draft consists of 10 rounds in total, two of which are territorial selections. Teams can each make up to two territorial selections, draft picks from their area, and teams that do not are given compensatory selections after the 2nd and 3rd rounds, respectively. These selections will be announced before the draft.
