The Truro Bearcats are proud to announce that Gavin Hart has signed a professional contract with Söderhamn/Ljusne HC, a Swedish Division 2 team, for the 2022-23 season.
The 21-year-old from Bible Hill played 160 games for the Bearcats over the course of four seasons. Hart was a Territorial Draft selection in the 2017 MHL Entry Draft. In his rookie season of 2017-18, he had ten goals and eighteen assists in 47 games to go with one goal and three assists in seven playoff games. In 2018-19, Hart scored sixteen goals to go with fifteen assists in 50 games played, with one goal in four playoff games. He played a handful of games for the QMJHL’s Halifax Mooseheads in each of those seasons and would join the club for the 2019-20 season.
Hart returned to Truro in 2020-21 with four goals and nine assists in 27 games played. He had three goals and two assists in five games during the Canadian Tire Cup Playoff Round Robin. In his final season in Junior A, Hart had seven goals and 20 assists in 36 games. He had four goals and four assists in seventeen playoff games as Truro reached the Canadian Tire Cup Final.
The Bearcats congratulate Gavin on his Junior A career, which ended with 37 goals and 68 assists, and wish him all the best with Söderhamn/Ljusne HC.
