Bearcats make trade deadline moves

Jason Imbeault, James Walker, Ben Sheffar

The Truro Bearcats are pleased to announce several trades leading up to the MHL’s Trade Deadline.

The Bearcats have acquired forwards Jason Imbeault, James Walker and Ben Sheffar from the Miramichi Timberwovles.

In exchange, the Bearcats dealt the rights to forward Matt Gordon, who was recently called up to the Cape Breton Eagles (QMJHL); and the rights to Logan Camp – also with the Eagles – who spent time with the Bearcats last season. The rights to Evan MacKinnon were also shipped to Miramichi. In addition to the players named, the Bearcats dealt their 2021 1st and 2nd Rd picks plus future considerations to Miramichi.

Forward Jason Imbeault is a 5th year junior with major junior experience with Sherbrooke and Rimouski. He is currently 7th in MHL scoring with 29 goals and 15 assists.

Forward James Walker, a native of Long Point, NS,  is a 3rd year junior. He is described as a rugged 200 foot forward.

Forward Ben Sheffar currently has two MHL goals to his name this season; he scored 12 points with the Timberwolves last season.

Jacob Bourchier

In a separate transaction Thursday the Bearcats acquired 20-year-old defenceman, and 4th year junior,  Jacob Bourchier from the Melville Millionaires (SJHL) for future considerations.

The Bearcats wish all the best to Matt Gordon and Logan Camp, and extend a warm welcome to Jason, James, Ben and Jacob! Truro enters the remainder of the schedule bigger, grittier and more offensively skilled.
