The Truro Bearcats have announced that they have acquired 20 year old defenseman, Dylan Chisholm from the Valley Wildcats in exchange for 19 year old forward, Cael MacDonald and the rights to defensive prospect, Ryan Fletcher.
Chisholm, a 2003 born defenseman from Antigonish, NS spent the last 4 seasons with the Wildcats amassing 42 points and 320 penalty minutes in 127 games(reg.season and playoffs). Chisholm will bring grit, solid defensive ability and a veteran presence to the Truro blue line as well as leadership having been team captain of the Wildcats this season.
MacDonald, a 2004 born forward from Hatchet Lake, NS is in his third season in the MHL with time split between Campbellton and Truro. After putting up 19 points in 20 games in the 2021-22 season with the Tigers in his rookie season, MacDonald was traded to Truro at the 2022 MHL draft. He put up 29 points in 69 games with the Bearcats in his time with Truro.
Fletcher, a 2006 born defenseman from Brookfield, NS was a 4th round selection by Truro in the 2022 MHL draft and is currently playing with the Valley Wildcats U18 team. Fletcher has affiliated with the Bearcats this season, putting up 1 assist in 5 games played.
