Bearcat -of-the-Week honours went to rookie defenceman Tim Porter. Last June the Bearcats chose Porter and Simon Mullen as Territorials in the U-18 draft. To date, Porter has appeared in 20 Bearcat games as part of a young defensive corps. He has grown his game with the responsibilities afforded him. He brings an offensive upside and a desire to learn all aspects of the position.

He came up through the West Cobra Minor Hockey Association to the Midget Minor level when he suited up with the Fundy Thunder U-16 Squad, playing 35 games while gaining some time with the Weeks Midgets. He followed a similar route for the 2019-2020 season, then last year played full time for Weeks, stepping up offensively scoring 7 and assisting on 16 others. He’s taken the less travelled route to the Junior level but has clearly made the most of it while learning the junior game.

WELL DONE

Hats off to Bearcat forward, Ben Diamond, for being named the MHL’s Top Forward for the month of December. He led all MHL players with his six goals and twelve points in the six games played — awesome offensive leadership.
