Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to Bearcat defenceman, Jack McGovern. Veteran leadership is a valuable commodity in post-Christmas play. As a fourth year Bearcat he has plenty to draw from and plenty to offer. Consistency and tending to the little things are a big part of his play.
He came up through the Dartmouth Whaler Major Bantam program, playing two seasons before a pair with the Dartmouth Major Midgets. He had a strong first season with the Bearcats, being named to the MHL Rookie All-Star Team. Since then, he’s been Mr. Steady. Truro drafted him in the 2016 Draft, as did the Saint John Sea Dogs. Over the years, he’s picked up exposure with the Halifax Mooseheads.
