Bearcat Bytes: Frederic Plourde

#31 Frederic Plourde
19-year-old Goaltender
St. Leonard, NB
6’1”, 180 lbs.

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to rookie goalie Frederic Plourde. Like all MHL players, he awaits the startup and the opportunity to face shots from the competition, not his teammates. To date, he’s appeared in four Bearcat games, taking over from Alec MacDonald on November 7th due to injury, then starting the next three. Obviously, as a back-up he was ready.

He came up through the North West Bantam AAA Bulls before suiting up with the Fredericton Midget AAA Caps for two seasons. Last year he moved on to Saint John to play with the Midget Vitos. He was a 2018 draft pick by Edmundston. The Bearcats acquired his rights last June from the Blizzard.

WELL DESERVED
Congrats to Coach Evans for capturing the online vote in the “Who Wore It Best” conducted by the Peterborough Petes. He was the team’s top player to wear #6 in the team’s lengthy history. Well done.
