Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to defensive newcomer, Brant King. The MHL veteran is the lone 20-year-old Bearcat defenceman and it’s expected his experience will serve the young defensive corps well going forward this year. This is his last kick at the can at the junior level, wanting to make it a good one while helping some young players.
He spent two seasons at the Major Bantam level with the Halifax Bubba Ray Bulls prior to three seasons at the Midget level. Following a year with South Shore Midget Mustangs, he moved on for a pair with the Halifax McDonalds. In his second McDonalds year, he had the opportunity to play in the National Telus Cup. The 2018 Edmundston draft pick played two full seasons with the Valley Wildcats and started this year with them prior to his trade to the Blizzard. At each level, he displayed an offensive flair. He looks to help the Bearcats in all zones.
PLAYER ADDITION
The Bearcats have added Affiliate, Noah Latimer (18), to the roster for the remainder of the year. The Halifax native played Junior “B” this year with Wast Hants and Brookfield.
