Bearcat -of-the-Week honours went to rookie Andyn Furmidge. In the 7-4 win over Yarmouth, he scored his first MHL goal. It was a big one since it proved to be a winning goal. He also assisted on the insurance marker. He, James Beaton and Ben Diamond(hat trick) had a great night. Hats off to rookie defenceman, Simon Mullen for picking up his first junior goal.
He came up through the Truro Bearcat Major Bantam program, playing a solid 200-foot game, with 12 goals and 15 assists in his second season. During the 2019 – 2020 season, he suited up with the Fundy Thunder (Midget Minor) while also seeing time with the Weeks U18 club. Last year, he played a full season with the Weeks U18 Program. He came to the Bearcat Training Camp as an undrafted walk-on. He displayed a strong work ethic, playing a smart reliable game. The coachable rookie has been earning increased ice time and responsibility.
