20-year-old Goaltender
Truro, N.S.
6’1”, 190 lbs

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to veteran goalie, Alec MacDonald. He turned aside 56 of the 60 shots directed his way to pick up a pair of wins over Amherst and Valley. He stood tall in both leading his team to victory. To date, he’s made 16 appearances, posting a 8-6-1 record.

He came up through the Truro Minor Program to the Major Bantam level where he competed two seasons. Next up was a season with the U-18 Newbridge Academy squad followed by a year with the Weeks Midgets. The 2016 Bearcat and Chicoutimi draft pick became a Bearcat rookie in the 2017-2018 season compiling a 2.13 GAA and .920 SV% over his 12 appearances. Now a fourth year Bearcat in his last year of junior eligibility, he’s looking to finish in fine style. The life-long Bearcat has plenty to offer.

The January 17th game between Amherst and Truro will be played Sunday, March 7th . The March 16th game between Summerside and Truro will be played Tuesday, March 23rd. Both are Bearcat home games.

The Bearcats are at home Friday, February 26th to face the South Shore Lumberjacks. Saturday, Truro travels to Valley to face the Wildcats.
