Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to forward, G Blackmore. In Truro’s 5 – 3 loss to the Pictou County Crushers, he was involved in all Bearcat scoring with a brace and an assist on Caleb Hart’s third period goal. His shorthand goal was a beauty. He comes into this week with 6 goals and 8 assists, putting him in a tie for points with Karter Renouf and Kyle Sexton.

He got his hockey start in the Truro Minor Program, working his way to the Bantam level when he suited up with the Truro Minor Bantams. He followed with a year of High School Hockey with CEC. Next up was a three year stint with the Weeks Crushers, finishing his third season with 28 goals and 47 assists and being awarded the NSMMHL MVP recognition. He also experienced 8 Moncton Wildcat games and was a leader with the Bearcats in their playoff run, winning the MHL Champioship and exposure at the Fred Page Cup in Quebec. In the 16 game playoffs, he scored 9 and assisted on 4 others. The 2016 Bearcat Territorial pick then played all of last year with the Moncton Wildcats.
