Evans resigns, accepts positon in QMJHL

The Truro Bearcats would like to announce that long time head coach Shawn Evans has officially resigned from his role effective immediately and has accepted a coaching position in the QMJHL.

Shawn has been behind the Truro bench since 2002 and his list of accomplishments include 1 Fred Page Cup, 4 league championships as well as 3 MHL Coach of the Year awards.

Amazingly, during his tenure with the Bearcats his team has never missed the playoffs nor had a record below .500.

With over 1000 games as Bearcats head coach, Shawn has become a pioneer for the Truro organization and the MHL as a whole. We wish him nothing but continued success as he takes on this new challenge at the next level. The Bearcats organization would like to thank Coach Evans for hisĀ  hard work and dedication over the past 21 seasons.

The search for the next head coach of the Truro Bearcats will begin immediately.
