Bearcat Bytes: #89 Dylan Burton

# 89 Dylan Burton
Hammond Plains, NS
5’9”, 190 lbs.
20, Forward

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to team captain, Dylan Burton. He picked up a pair of powerplay goals, including the winner to help lead his team to victory and sit two points behind Amherst. The team’s powerplay sputtered by times this year, but for Sunday, it engineered three of them. Captains are expected to lead by example.

He got his hockey start in the Bedford Blues Minor Program, working his way through the ranks to the end of Bantam. After a season with the Bedford Blues “AA” Midgets, he got a shot with Newbridge Academy, experiencing Provincial, Atlantics and exposure at the Telus Nationals. In his third Midget year, he responded with 18 goals and 20 assists and another 16 points in the playoff run enroute to another Telus Cup appearance. The 2016 Bearcat pick had a 15 goal and 21 assist rookie year, helping the team pick up its fourth MHL Crown. He’s clearly a 200 – foot player who tends to consistently do the little things. Young Bearcats can learn from his play.
