Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to forward, Spencer Blackwell. In last Wednesday’s playoff clinching game against Valley, he opened the scoring for the Bearcats, then assisted on two others. The first year Bearcat finished the year third in team scoring with 26 goals and 40 assists. Eighteen of these points came on the powerplay. He consistently brings skill, grit and pressure.
He got his hockey start in the South Central AAA moved on to Prep School Hockey at Everest Academy in Thornhill, leading the team in a season with the Thorold Blackhawks in the tough Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League. He scored 15 and assisted 25 others in his 39 games played. He spent all of last year with the Quebec Remparts (QMJHL). The Bearcats acquired his playing rights in the June Supplementary Draft.
PLAYOFF SCHEDULE
Bearcat home games are scheduled for Sunday (15th ), Thursday (19th ), and Monday (23rd ). The Bearcats have been in play off mode since the Christmas Break
