17, Forward

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to rookie forward, Ben Fraser. In Monday’s game in Amherst, he scored his First MHL goal. Breaking the ice can only add to confidence. He serves on an energy line, holding the opposition honest while adjusting to the junior level.

He got his hockey start in the South Colchester Association before his move to the Truro and Area Program. He spent two seasons with the Truro Major Bantams, displaying a strong scoring touch the second year, picking up 24 goals.

Next up was a two year stint with the Weeks Midgets. Last year, he had a strong season scoring 12 and assisting in 19 others over the 36 game schedule. He also served as team captain, a position held by teammates Carson Lanceleve and G Blackmore. He consistently displays a strong work ethic, playing the game with determination and passion.

APPRECIATION

The Bearcats are grateful for the support shown for last weekend’s Pink In The Rink games. When bidding closed, $2590.00 was raised. The proceeds go to the Dragon Boat Team SOS in their support of the We Care About Cancer Program. Last year, 319 Teddy Bears landed on RECC ice. This year’s Teddy Bear Toss is slated for Saturday, November 30. Take time to support this endeavor. All Teddy Bears are handed over to the Christmas Index for distribution in the Truro Area.
