Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to forward, Jason Imbeault. This is the second time in recent weeks the honour came his way but his performance last weekend warrants it. In the three games, he picked up five points, including the third period hat trick in the comeback OT win over the South Shore Lumberjacks. Included was his seventh shorthanded goal of the season, tying four others who have reached that number since the league started in 1967.
The Bearcats acquired his services via the deadline trade with the Miramichi Timberwolves. Since coming to Truro, he’s scored eight goals and assisted on four others in nine games played. He’s now second in team scoring with 37 goals and 19 assists. He’s clearly in a good spot personally and for the Bearcats. Ben Higgins leads the team in scoring with 29 goals and 31assists. His efforts last week had him pick up three goals and a pair of assists, including the OT winner on Saturday. Also in the running for Bearcat-of-the-Week honours was goalie Alec MacDonald who played all three games picking up the two wins.
