Bearcat Bytes: #22 Luke MacMillan

# 22 Luke MacMillan
Brookfield, NS
6’0”, 190 lbs.
20, Forward

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to fourth year Bearcat, Luke MacMillan. He has been a consistent performer in all 11 games this year, accepting his shutdown role and providing a physical presence along the boards playing the game within the rules. His reliable play earns him respect from the opposition and teammates alike.

He got his hockey start in the South Colchester Minor Program before moving to the Truro Association and the opportunity for “AAA” Peewee. In his second Midget “AA” year, he moved on to the Steele Subaru Major Midgets mid season. That team won the Provincials, Atlantics and participated in the Telus Cup. The Bearcats drafted him following that 2015 – 2016 season and he’s been a regular since. His work ethic and acceptance of his role has remained a constant. As an Assistant Captain, he leads by example and has the respect of all. A consummate student Athlete, he was the recipient of the 2017 -2018 Bob Boucher Hockey Assistance Fund, the 2018 – 2019 MHL Scholastic Player of the Year and the CJHL Academic Player of the year. He’s clearly a role model.

The Truro Bearcats will have some local Fire Brigades participating in the ceremonial face off to start this Friday’s game. Recognizing the dedication of all Brigades in support of their communities is essential.
