The Truro Bearcats have acquired the rights to forward Tully Peter Grant and a 3rd round draft pick in the 2022 MHL Entry Draft for defenseman Dell Welton.

Dell Welton was a Territorial Draft Pick of the Bearcats in the 2018 MHL Entry Draft. In 94 games with Truro, he tallied nine goals and fifteen assists, including one goal and five assists in 20 games this season. Welton was a mainstay on the Bearcats blueline the past three seasons, handling an ever-increasing role on the team.

Tully Peter Grant, a 2005-born forward from Antigonish, was selected in the 3rd round, 25th overall in the 2021 MHL Entry Draft by the South Shore Lumberjacks. His rights were traded to Fredericton in mid-November. He has ten goals and ten assists in 27 games to lead the Cape Breton West Islanders in the Nova Scotia U-18 Hockey League this season.

The Bearcats wish Welton the best of luck in Fredericton and welcome Grant to the team.
