Bearcats Sign Defenseman, Halliday

The Truro Bearcats are pleased to announce the signing of 17 year old defenseman, Eric Halliday from the QMJHL’s Blainville-Boisbriand Armada.

Halliday, from Hammonds Plains was a 3rd round pick of the Armada in the 2022 QMJHL draft and started this season in Blainville, registering 1 assist in 13 games played. The Bearcats selected Eric in the 6th round of the 2022 MHL draft.

Halliday played his U18 with the illustrious Halifax MacDonalds program from 2021-2023 where he attained numerous accolades including a 2022 NSU18MHL championship with the Macs, he was named to the Rookie All-Star Team in the 21-22 season and was named the league’s top defenseman in the 22-23 season. Eric put up 43 points in 65 career regular season games with Halifax.

Halliday is a high octane two-way defenseman who can eat a lot of minutes even as a 17 year old. We are very pleased to add a player of his caliber to our D core.

We would like to officially welcome Eric and his family to the Truro Bearcats organization!
