Bearcat Bytes: #30 Myles Hektor

# 30 Myles Hektor
Lake Bluff, IL
6’1”, 180 lbs.
20, Goal

The Bearcat-of-the–Week honours went to goalie, Myles Hektor. In last Friday’s 1-0 win over Campbellton, he turned aside 40 Tiger shots to pick up his second Shutout of the season. Saturday, he stopped 25 of 28 Timberwolves’ shots for back-to-back wins. In the Miramichi game, he shut the door in the third giving his team the chance to score and force OT.

He comes into this week with a 7 – 2 record and a solid 2.01 GAA. He got his hockey with the Vernon Hills Ice Dogs working his way through the ranks to the Chicago Mission Program where he played four seasons of High Performance U 16, U 18. At the end of his second U 18 year, he was called up to the NAHL’s Keni River Bears in Alaska. He entered the junior level with the Blind River Beavers (NOJHL) in the 2016 – 2017 season setting new team standards for wins, home wins and lowest GAA.

Last year, he played 15 games with the Kanata Lazers (CCHL) before coming East to join the Edmundston Blizzard, playing 13 regular season games (2.57 GAA) and 7 in playoffs en-route to Fred Page Cup play. His experience is clearly an asset.
