20, Forward

The Bearcat-of- the-Week honours went to forward, Shawn Bily. His sixth goal of the year proved to be the OT winner in Saturday’s 2-1 win over the Crushers. In his ten Bearcat games, he’s potted six and assisted on six others. Coming into this week, those numbers have him tied with Kyle Sexton for the scoring lead among the Bearcats. He, Gavin Hart and G Blackmore have been solid when all are healthy.

He got solid instruction through the Honey Baked Hockey club in Farmington Hills, MI, a program designed to developing players to enable them to compete at advanced levels. One season with the Honey Baked Major Bantam led him to the 2013 – 2014 season where he suited up with the Honey Baked U 16 and the New Jersey Jr. Titans U 16. A 2014 draft pick of the Erie Otters (OHL), he suited up with the Otters for two full seasons before splitting the 2016 – 2017 season between the Otter and Quebec Ramparts. Last year he played in the OJHL with the Trenton Golden Hawks. To date, he’s displayed a high skill set, obviously a good fit with the young Bearcats.
