Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to forward, Jaden Hewes. In Truro’s two losses last week, he picked up a single assist in the 4-3 Valley victory, assisting on James Walker’s powerplay goal late in the second period.

He got his hockey start in the Anchorage Mighty Moose All-Star Program through the Novice and Atom levels. His first year at the Peewee level saw him play with the Anchorage North Star in the State League. He played with the Eagle River Blue Devils the second year, experiencing a State Championship. A move to Arizona gave him his first experience as a young billet, playing his first Bantam year with the Utah West Renegades. The following season he suited up with the Victory Hondas U 15 in Detroit, Michigan.

At the Midget level he was off to Nashville to play with the Junior Predators U 16 for his first year. He moved to Dallas the following year to play with the Stars U 18 squad. He started this year with the Melville Millionaires, playing 22 games. His Assistant Coach, former Bearcat, Phil Fife directed him toward the Bearcats.
