Bearcat Bytes: #12 G Blackmore

# 12 G Blackmore
Millbrook, NS
5’9”, 177 lbs.
19, Forward

Bearcat-of-the-Week honors go to forward, G Blackmore. He scored at the 12:15 mark of the first period of the January 31 st game in Bridgewater. That ended a goal scoring drought that went back to the 7:33 mark of the third period in the January 19 th game. In between, the team was shut out three times. Consider it a huge goal.

He got his hockey start in the Truro Minor Program right up to two seasons with the Truro Major Bantams. In the 2014 – 2015 season he played with the CEC Cougars, gaining confidence in his game. His rookie season with Weeks is impressive (31 pts). His second season was spectacular, earning MVP honours, scoring the most points and most assists. In playoffs, he scored another 20 points before joining the Bearcats for its playoff run, leading the team with 9 goals and 5 assists enroute to a MHL Championship and a Fred Page Cup appearance. He also appeared in eight Moncton Wildcat games. He was with the Wildcats all of last year. Truro’s 2016 Territorial pick has been a solid teammate and worthy to wear the “C”.
