Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to rookie forward, Lucas Parsons. In his first Bearcat game, a 5 – 2 road loss in Yarmouth, he picked up his first goal as a junior and Truro’s first of the season. It’s an emotional experience playing at a higher level and clearly one he’s happy to have under his belt. Fellow rookie, Matt Gordon, scored the second Bearcat goal.
He came up through the Eastern Express Bantam AAA program picking up 42 points enroute to a Provincial Championship. In 2017 – 2018 he played five games with the Charlottetown Pride Midget AAA club and another 28 with the Pownal Red Wings, scoring 14 goals and helping the team win a Provincial Midget Championship. Last year, he scored 17 and assisted on 14 others with the Kensington Wild. He also suited up with the Sherwood Metros for three games, getting his feet wet at the junior level in the IsJHL.
The Bearcats drafted him in the second round of the Midget draft in June. He sees the ice well; knows where the corners are; and is strong on the puck. He is one of 7 rookies looking to make an impact with the Bearcats.
