Colchester County Food Drive
When the MHL schedule allows, the Bearcats assist in Colchester County’s single-day food drive. The Bearcats help those who make donations by unloading cars and stocking the food bank trucks with donated items.
Big Brothers Big Sisters in School Mentor Program
The Bearcats have been active with the Big Brothers Big Sisters In School Mentor Program.
Salvation Army Kettle Campaign
Since 2007 the Bearcats have used their off-days to man the Salvation Army Kettles. Working the kettles helps lighten the load of the Salvation Army in this most worthy community project.
Serving Meals at Elementary Schools
The Truro Bearcats serve many meals, including Christmas Dinner, to local elementary school students each season. It’s a busy time of year with hockey and community activities leading up to the Christmas Break.
Terry Fox Run
The Bearcats hit the streets of the hub town, not as part of a conditioning program, but in support of the Truro Elementary School Terry Fox run. Team members have participated in this most worthwhile cause since 2009.
Literacy Week, Heritage Fairs, and other School Events
The Bearcats pitch in at numerous school events throughout the season such as Literacy Week, the Heritage Fair, and many more.
Santa Claus, Canada Day, and Exhibition Parade
When the MHL Schedule allows the time; the Bearcats enter into the Santa Claus, Canada Day, and Exhibition parades locally.
