The Truro Bearcats have made a pair of moves at the opening of the January Trading Period, acquiring the MHL rights to Halifax Mooseheads forward, Antoine Fontaine as well as signing their 5th overall pick from the 2024 MHL Draft in 17 year old forward, Jace Evans.
The 2022 3rd round pick of the Mooseheads has played in over 130 games with Halifax over the past 3 seasons including a career high 23 points last season. The Granby, QC native is a former standout of the powerhouse Magog Cantonniers M18 program in Quebec where he was teammates with current Bearcats, Eli Baillargeon, Julien Roy and Tristan St-Gelais.

Evans, a resident of Dartmouth spent the first half of the season with the Huskies, appearing in 20 games and putting up one assist.
A former Dartmouth Steele Subaru standout, Evans had a pair of productive seasons, putting up 56 points in 74 games while providing consistent play at both ends of the ice.
Jace is set to join the Bearcats asap.
