Bearcats on hand to help Colchester Food Bank Food Drive

Getting involved in the Community is an important part of junior hockey in the Maritime Junior Hockey League. COVID-19 hampered that involvement over the past year but things are picking up.

Pictured are Truro Bearcats James Beaton and Sonny Kabatay assisting Farrah McKay from the Colchester Food Bank in sorting donations during the Food Bank’s Annual Drive. In all, the food bank reported 13,231.9 pounds of food being collected and tallied $25,914.87 in monetary donations.

Besides hockey, the Bearcats are gearing up for a number of Community activities. The Bible Hill Kinsman Teddy Bear Toss is set for December 1 st when the Yarmouth Mariners are in town.

Team members will be involved in a Meet and Greet at the Truro Farmers Market from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, on Sunday, November 28th.

Again, this year the Bearcats will be manning the Kettles in support of the Salvation Army Kettle Campaign. The players will be at the Truro Mall the first three Tuesdays (11:00 am – 7:00 pm) in December. This will be the Bearcats fifteenth year supporting the Campaign.

These are busy times, but important times.
