The Truro Bearcats are pleased to announce that we have selected forward, Austin Hoyt and defenseman, Tyler Sullivan as our territorial selections for the 2025 MHL Draft.
Hoyt, from Valley is a product of Truro minor hockey, spending a pair of years with the Bearcats U15 Major club before making the jump to the Weeks U18 Majors in Pictou this past year. The high IQ 200 foot forward has continued to improve every season, recently finishing 4th in NSU18MHL league scoring as a rookie with 56 points in 37 games. Austin was selected in the 4th round by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in this past weekends QMJHL draft.
Sullivan, from Shortt’s Lake played his minor hockey in South Colchester before a pair of years with the Bearcats U15 Major club and most recently, the Weeks U18 Majors. Tyler is a reliable, defense first, defenseman with a good stick and impressive physical tools who can eat a lot of minutes on a team’s blueline. Sullivan was also selected by the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies this past weekend in the 6th round of the QMJHL draft.
