Bearcats Make 2024 Territorial Selections

We are pleased to announce forward, Elliott Mullen and defenseman, Matthew Merryweather as our territorial selections for the 2024 MHL Draft.

Mullen, from Shortt’s Lake played his minor hockey in Truro and led the the U15 Bearcats in scoring both of his years in 2021-22/2022-23 putting up 77 points in 64 career games. This season, Elliott made the jump to the world renowned GTHL in Ontario where he was a point a game player with the Mississauga Senators U16 AAA. Mullen represented Nova Scotia on numerous occasions this year during the Q Cup in his QMJHL draft year and this past weekend was drafted in the 8th round by the Moncton Wildcats.

Merryweather, from Hilden also spent time playing minor hockey in the Truro system. After 2 successful seasons with the Truro Bearcats U15, Merryweather made the jump to the Fundy Thunder U16 squad putting up 30 points in 35 games in 2022-23. Matthew made another jump up to the Weeks U18 Majors this past season serving as assistant captain and putting up 16 points in 38 games.
