Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to junior veteran, Zach Bennett. In the two weekend victories, he performed solidly in his defensive role in all situations while chipping in offensively with five points. He picked up one assist in Yarmouth, opened the scoring against Amherst, assisted on the winner, and added two more helpers along the way. Once again he played a huge role, especially with a short-staffed defensive corps.
Following a season with the Tri Pen Bantam AAA club, he was off to Sherbrooke, QC for two seasons at Bishop’s College Prep. He split the 2017-2018 season between the Drummondville Voltigeurs and Acadie-Bathurst Titan. Next up was a full season with the Yarmouth Mariners and last year in Campbellton with the Tigers. The 2017 Drummondville and Yarmouth draft choice brings plenty to the table. Good size, quick feet, right shot, and an obvious offensive flair combined to help the Bearcats achieve what they’ve done so far this season. The Assistant Captain has become a fan favourite.
