Bearcat Bytes: Tanner Humber-Dredge

#2 Tanner Humber-Dredge
18-year-old Forward
St. John, NL
5’8”, 155 lbs.

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to rookie forward, Tanner Humber-Dredge. He didn’t pick up points in the two games last week, but, he along with linemates, Holden Kodak and Gavin Hart, had their chances, and were a threat each shift. He’s brought the club speed, skill, and a tenacious pursuit of the puck.

Following two seasons with the St. John’s AAA Bantam Hitman, he moved on to Prep School hockey at Kings-Edgehill U-16. He played the 2017-2018 season with the St. John’s Maple Leafs, followed last year with the Pinnacle Growler Midgets (St. John’s). As an Assistant Captain he led by example, leading the NLMMHL in Assists and Points, en route to being named League MVP. He also played some High School hockey last year with the Holy Heart Highlanders. The 2020 Bearcat draft pick sought the chance to play in Saskatchewan with the Eastern Bruins coached by former Woodstock Slammer coach Jason Tatarnic. In October he returned East, suiting up with the Bearcats. In 13 Bearcat games, he’s scored 3 and assisted on 6 others.
