Bearcat Bytes: Jacob Christie

#5 Jacob Christie
18-year-old Defenseman
Timberlea,, NS
6’2”, 192 lbs.

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to rookie defenceman, Jacob Christie. No games were played last week; however, recognition is deserved for his reliable performances displayed in all 14 Bearcat games. He arrived with potential and has shown it in each outing. To date, he’s kept things simple learning the junior game and it’s not surprising he’s getting experience in all situations.

He came up through the Dartmouth Whaler Major Bantam program, playing two seasons before moving up for three with the Dartmouth Major Midgets, captaining the team last year while picking up 8 goals and 14 assists. The Bearcats acquired his playing rights last January, as part of the Trade which sent Carson Lanceleve to Yarmouth. He was a 2018 St Stephen and 2019 Cape Breton Screaming Eagle draft pick. The combination of size, skill, and desire have made him a valuable Bearcat.

ON TAP
