#31 Frederic Plourde 20-year-old Goaltender St. Leonard, NB 6’1”, 185 lbs.

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to second-year Bearcat, Frederic Plourde. He impressed last year, serving primarily as a backup to veteran Alec MacDonald. This season, he’s made 11 appearances posting a 3.75 GAA and a 5-5-1 record. He, and December addition, Maverik Goyer, give the Bearcats a solid tandem going forward. Both have a year of eligibility beyond this season.

Following two seasons with the North West Bantam AAA Bulls, he began a three-season run of midget hockey. He spent two with the Fredericton Canadians, then a third with the Saint John Vitos. An Edmundston draft pick in 2018, his rights were acquired from the Blizzard in June of 2020. He’s geared up for the long haul.
