Bearcat -of-the-Week honours went to Bearcat rookie, Bryson Currie. His two first period goals went a long way in helping the Bearcats take the 3-2 win over Pictou County Crushers last Saturday. He also picked up an assist in Friday’s win over Valley. At every stop in his young career, he was always to be found on the score sheet.
He came up through the Truro and Area Minor hockey program up to the Truro Major Bantams. He picked up 23 goals the first year and 39 the second, finishing that level with 107 points over 33 games. He spent two years with the Week Major Midgets scoring 12 goals each year and being named Second team All-Star last season. He was a 2020 Territorial Bearcat pick and a 2021 choice by the Moncton Wildcats. As a 17-year-old he’s learning the junior game and earning his ice time. After 7 Bearcat games, he’s collected three goals and an assist.
