The Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to second year forward, Karter Renouf. He accounted for all Bearcat scoring with a power-play goal in the first period and the OT winner in the 2 – 1 victory over the Edmundston Blizzard. He shared the lead in Bearcat scoring with Kyle Sexton, both with seven points. Three of Renouf’s goals were game winners.
Goal-tending has been a Bearcat strength over the years. Same thing this year. Alec MacDonald picked up the win last Friday, turning aside 25 Blizzard shots for his third win of the season. Myles Hektor picked up wins in the three games leading into last weekend. They have been very stingy dealing with the opposition, allowing the fewest goals against at this stage of the schedule. Giving teammates the chance to win is their objective. Let’s face it, all wins are team wins.
SERVICE RECOGNITION
This year marks the 150th Anniversary of the Truro Fire Department, both Brigade and Fire Service. The Bearcats salute that service with ceremonial face-off in Friday’s game.
