Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to forward, Jason Imbeault. He played a prominent role in both games last week, scoring his sixth short-handed goal of the year, and a power-play goal in the 4-1 win over the Crushers. He picked up a goal and assist in Saturday’s 6-3 loss to the Lumberjacks.
Following a season of midget –age hockey with College Notre-Dame Albatros in Riviere –de-loup, he was drafted in 2015 by the Sherbrooke Phoenix. He played two full seasons with the Phoenix before suiting up with the Miramichi Timberwolves for 29 games in the 2017-2018 season. By season end he had moved on to play 21 games with the Rimouski Oceanic.
Last year, he started with Rimouski but 17 games into the season returned to Miramichi. As a Timberwolf this year, he recorded 29 goals and 15 assists before the deadline trade to the Bearcats. In his four Truro games to date, he’s picked up 3 goals and 3 assists. He looks for a continued contribution to the Bearcats in the drive to the playoffs.
