Bearcat-of-the-Week honours go to third year forward, Luke MacMillan.

New faces in the Bearcat program should keep an eye on him and his role. He’s developed into a reliable shut-down forward who sees plenty of action against the best the opposition can provide. This is a crucial role.

He got his hockey start in the South Colchester Minor Association before a switch to Truro’s “AAA” program. Part way through his second Truro’s Midget “AA” year he was elevated to the Steele Subaru Major Midget where he experienced Provincials, Atlantics and Telus Cup play. The Bearcats’ 2016 draft pick earned a spot on the 2016 – 2017 team and has a Championship ring to prove it. Last year, he was a solid unassuming player who grew his face-off and forecheck skills. As a third year player, he has plenty to offer on all fronts. Last June, he was named the MHL winner of the Bob Boucher Assistance Fund Scholarship.
