Bearcat Bytes: #20 Damian Hartt

# 20 Damian Hartt
Ellershouse, NS
5’9”, 177 lbs.
17, Defence

Bearcat-of-the-Week honors went to rookie defenceman, Damian Hartt. He assisted on both Bearcat goals in the 4 – 2
loss to the Yarmouth Mariners last Saturday. The 17 year-old is playing a big game often against the opposition’s top talent. The learning curve is big but he’s handling it well.

He got his hockey start in the West Hants Association before moving on to the Acadia Program and the chance to play “AAA”. Following his two Peewee seasons, he spent a year of Bantam with Newbridge Academy and a second in Saskatchewan with the Notre Dame Hounds. His first Midget season was with the Cole Harbour Wolfpack and last year, as a Valley Midget, was the NSMMHL most penalized player (107 minutes). The 2018 first round pick has earned his playing time and is seeing action in all situations.

Over the next month, the Truro Minor Initiation players will be displaying their talents during intermission of Bearcat games. This is where it all starts.

Tonight, the Bearcats are in Summerside to face the MHL North Division’s top team. The game gets underway at 7:00.

Tomorrow (Friday), the Grand Falls Rapids make their first visit to Truro.

Saturday, the South Shore Lumberjacks are at the RECC. Bearcat home games start at 7:00 pm.
