Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to forward, Bryan Laureigh. He picked up a goal in the loss to the Crushers, a pair in the win over South Shore and a single tally in the 3-2 win in Yarmouth. In those three games his effort was recognized, being named a Game Star in each (second, first, third). It was a solid week’s work at the right time.
After two seasons with the Shattuck St. Mary’s Midget Program, he came north to play the 2017-2018 season with the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL). After 13 games to start the following season, he went to the Kingston Vouageurs (OJHL). The Bearcats acquired his playing rights from the Collingwood Colts last summer. He reported following a tryout with the Halifax Mooseheads. He brought the Bearcats a 200-foot game, playing with an edge and physicality. There’s no question he’s one of the team leaders, upping his game in this urgent portion of the season.
