Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to first year Bearcat, Bryan Laureigh. In weekend action, he picked up a goal in Edmundston, then assisted on Carson Lanceleve’s goal to open the scoring in Grand Falls. Injury kept him out of seven games to date but it appears things are starting to fall in place for him.

He got his hockey start in his home state of New Jersey in the Red Bank Generals Program. Following a season of U 14 hockey, he moved on to play two midget seasons with Shattuck St. Mary’s Prep. His game caught the attention of the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL), where he played the 2017 – 2018 season. Last year, he split his time between the Frontenac and the Kingston Voyageurs (OJHL). The Bearcats acquired his rights from the Collingwood Colts (OJHL). He brings the Bearcats skill, size and leadership, all coming together at the right time.

COMMUNITY

The Annual Teddy Bear Toss is finally here. This Saturday, fans are asked to put a Teddy Bear in a plastic bag, then toss it on the ice when the Bearcats score their first goal. All Teddy Bears will be given to the Christmas Index to be distributed in the local area. It’s a great cause and the Bearcats are pleased to partner with the Bible Hill Kinsmen to get it done.

Author, Philip Croucher, will have a book signing at the November 30th game. His book, The Three Stars, about Crosby, MacKinnon and Marchand will be on sale, as well ($19.95).
