Bearcat Bytes: #15 Will Mizuik

# 15 Will Mizuik
Victoria, BC
5’10”, 190 lbs.
20, Forward

The Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to second year Bearcat forward, Will Mizuik. In Truro’s lone game last week, a 2-1 Shootout win in Amherst, his shut-down efforts played a key role, 5-on-5 and as a member of Truro’s Penalty-kill. The latter is tops in the MHL at 89.2% efficiency, a number the Bearcats relish. He and Luke MacMillan share much credit for that.

He got his hockey start in the Victoria Grizzly Minor Program before a family move to Penticton for the Peewee and Bantam levels. Next up was international exposure with the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy Sea Devils. He spent the entire 2015-2016 season with the Sicamous Eagles (VIJHL). He followed with a season in the NOJHL with the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners, scoring 17 and assisting in 22 others. After 17 games last year with that Club, he moved East to Truro where he established himself as a 200 – foot player. He’s a trusted defensive forward capable of playing all forward positions. He goes about his role in a quiet unassuming, but effective manner.
