Bearcat Bytes: #12 G Blackmore

# 12 G Blackmore
Millbrook, NS
5’9”, 180 lbs.
20, Forward

Bearcat-of-the-Week honours went to veteran forward, G Blackmore. He stood out offensively in both wins over the week end. In Campbellton, he scored one goal and assisted on twonothers; in Miramichi, he scored a pair and had one helper. That’s quite a contribution for a team needing that leadership. He was named Game First Star in both road wins.

He got his hockey start in the Truro and Area Minor Association up through to a pair of seasons with Truro Major Bantam Bearcats. He grew his game the next year with the CEC High School team, before spending two seasons with the Weeks Midgets. His second Midget year saw him lead the League in scoring and being named MVP. He joined the Bearcats for their playoff run in 2016 – 2017, scoring 9 goals and 5 assists enroute to a MHL championship and Fred Page Cup Appearance. Truro’s 2016 Terrirorial pick spent all of the 2017 – 2018 season with the Moncton Wildcats. He returned to the Bearcats last year, becoming a fan favourite. This year, as Assistant Captain, he’s expected to provide speed, grit and scoring in his leadership capacity.
