Tyler Pyke
Spryfield, NS
6'1", 174 lbs
19, Defence

Bearcat-of- the-Week honours went to Bearcat sophomore defenceman, Tyler Pyke. In Truro’s lone game of this week, a shutout loss to Amherst, he played his usual steady game. In a short time, he has developed into a steady, reliable blueliner, gaining experience in all situations.

The Spryfield native played two years with the Halifax Gulls Major Bantam squad. He followed this with three seasons of Midget, one with Dartmouth and two with the Newbridge Academy Gladiators. During the 2014 – 2015 season he exposed an offensive flair, helping his team win Provincials, Atlantics and a Trip to the Telus Cup. He was a fourth round Bearcat pick in the 2014 draft and saw action in four games as a Bearcat affiliate. He’s a young anchor on the current Bearcat roster.
