#89 Dylan Burton

November 11, 2016
By Gerry Hale

Dylan Burton
Hammonds Plains, NS
5'7", 187 lbs
18, Forward

Bearcat-of- the-Week honours went to rookie forward, Dylan Burton. Itís expected that Junior veterans, Kyle Tibbo, Zach Moody, Denver Lynds and Brandon Hughes would lead the club offensively but they would need secondary support. They got just that from Burton in Saturdayís 6-4 win in St. Stephen. He opened the scoring on a power-play and picked up the winning tally in the third period. Thatís a solid contribution from a winger known for tough two Ė way play.

He was Truroís Number 1 pick in the 2016 draft largely due to his tenacious play along the boards. After a learning season under Steve Crowell with the Steele Subaru Midgets he exploded offensively last year picking up 18 goals and 20 assists. He continued his hot play into the post season adding another 6 goals and 9 assists in 11 playoff games. To date heís been given opportunities to play in all situations and is quickly developing into a reliable Bearcat.

TEDDY BEAR TOSS

Itís time to think about this event which supports the Christmas Index Program. Last year 257 Teddy Bears were received in the Annual Toss. All landed in good hands Christmas morning. This yearís Toss is scheduled for Saturday, December 3. Get Prepared.

ON TAP

The Truro Bearcats travel to Amherst Friday for a 2:00 pm game. An Annual Remembrance Day match-up between the two has become a fixture.
