Bearcat-of- the-Week honours went to rookie goalie, Alec MacDonald. He picked up his second shutout of the season, Friday at home turning aside 25 Miramichi shots giving his team all the support they needed. Coming into this week, he’s appeared in 7 games putting together a 3-2- 1 record with a solid 1.82 GAA and 0.920 SV%. He and tandem partner, Kevin Resop have been getting the job done.

MacDonald came through the Truro Minor Program up to the Bantam level where he impressed in two Truro Major Bantam seasons. Next up was a year of Midget with  Newbridge Academy followed by a second with Pictou Weeks Crushers. At the conclusion of that season he was selected a Territorial by Truro and a draft choice of Chicoutimi. In the Fall of 2016 his Major Junior rights were traded to the Moncton Wildcats. He played 3 games last year with the Wildcats and another 4 this year. He’s a big part of this year’s Bearcat team, always on the ready, always pushing the position.
