Mark O'Shaughnessy
West Vancouver, BC
5'11", 194 lbs
19, Defence

Bearcat-of- the-Week honours went to first year defenceman, Mark O’Shaughnessy. He scored the OT winner against the St. Stephen Aces and assisted on Denver Lynds’ opening goal. This particular winner was more an epic battle deep in the opposition’s end won by O’Shaughnessy. It wasn’t the luck of the Irish, it was dogged determination that prevailed.

He came to the Bearcats eleven games into the season. His Prep School Hockey background with the Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) and the North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) landed him in 2014-2015 with the Kootenay Storm (Junior “B”). At that level he picked up a point a game earning a shot at Junior “A” level the next season with Merritt Centennials (BCHL); again putting up good numbers. He started this season with Merritt before moving on to the Prince George Spruce Kings (BCHL), then coming to Truro. He’s been a good fit and has quickly earned big minutes in all situations. He goes about his job in an unassuming way.

Saturday’s the Day. Let the air space in the RECC be filled with Teddy Bears. Place them in a grocery bag and make this great contribution to the Colchester Christmas Index Program.

Also, take in the “Get To Know Your Bearcats’ Display”. Learn some fun facts, see what our team is doing in the Community, have your face painted and check out the photo booth.

Tonight the Woodstock Slammers are in town for a 7:00 start.

Saturday, the South Shore Lumberjacks bring their game to the RECC, also a 7:00 start time.
